Cystic fibrosis is a disease that causes thick, sticky mucus to build up in the lungs, digestive tract, and other areas of the body. It is one of the most common chronic lung diseases in children and young adults. It is a life-threatening disorder.

There are more than 1,400 different mutations of the gene
1 in every 31 Americans are carriers of the disease
There are more than 70,000 people world wide with Cystic Fibrosis
Each year more than 1,000 cases of cystic fibrosis are diagnosed
Most people with cystic fibrosis take treatments that take up to 4 hours a day
Many individuals with cystic fibrosis take up to 50 pills a day
The median age of survival is 37 years old
Cystic Fibrosis is the number 1 genetic killer in children

Todays picture is Cory at 6 months old. By 6 months old, Cory had already endured countless hospitalization, hours of breathing and airway clearance treatments, and thousands of medications.
6 months represents our amount raised……Just over 500 dollars. When we get to 1,000, the picture will change to Cory at 1 year old. You get the idea?!
